Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriting Assistant to join our new wholesale broker team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting underwriters in the evaluation and assessment of risks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist underwriters in reviewing and analyzing new business submissions for all products, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Gather relevant data to evaluate potential exposures and loss trends.
- Utilize underwriting tools and software to generate quotes, proposals, and policy documents.
- Communicate with wholesale brokers and clients to obtain additional information and clarify underwriting requirements.
- Maintain underwriting files and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Support underwriting team in special projects, initiatives, and process improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
- Previous experience in insurance underwriting, analysis, or related field preferred. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Self starter, driven and can operate in an ambiguous environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and underwriting software/systems.
