AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

Looking for an enthusiastic underwriting assistant to join the Marine team, supporting new and existing business. You’ll report to the Head of Marine and closely collaborate with the various department across the organization.

• Support the team in daily operations, contributing to the achievement of targets.
• Issuance of marine certificates and premium booking in corresponding system with accuracy and efficiency.
• Summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premiums and exposures.
• Underwrite simple risks in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
• Completion of pre-underwriting tasks (preparation for upcoming renewals, pricing tool input, sanction screening, account reservation (ESTART), GES modelling, quotation tracking, etc.).
• Completing of post-bind tasks (policy issuance, contract check, ensure all files are audit compliant, rating tool completion, sanction screening, updating of ESTART, etc.).
• Maintain good relationships with external and internal parties as appropriate .
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks defined and agreed with the Head of Marine

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience on Marine Insurance is a plus
• Demonstrates understanding of basic insurance principles.
• Computer literacy with good working knowledge of MS office (e.g. Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Is resourceful with strong analytical skills, paying attention to details accuracy
• An open and honest approach
• Able to take initiative and be a decision maker
• Adaptable and flexible to the needs of the business
• Hardworking dedicated team player with strong and flexible time management to support peak period whenever required to meet tight deadlines
