Responsibilities:

Culpepper & Associates Security Services is seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill multiple Unarmed Security Officer positions.  Officer's will be responsible for patrolling the Cemetery grounds throughout the assigned shift and enforcement of cemetery rules and regulations.  Officer's must display compassion, sensitivity, and good business ethics in all interactions with clients and visitors.

  • Patrol the Cemetery grounds to provide a security presence and related duties throughout scheduled shift.
  • Explain and enforce the Cemetery’s rules, procedures and regulations to visitors and advise them of violations in a professional manner, remaining sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of visitors.
  • Assist with the control of traffic entering and leaving the cemetery.
  • Serve as first contact for visitors to welcome them, answer questions and direct them to their desired destinations.
  • Responsible for the opening and or closing of the cemetery grounds and gates or buildings ensuring safe and secure access to visitors or employees.
  • Participate in responding to emergencies as needed. Maintain familiarity with all emergency procedures. Investigate complaints, accidents and disturbances on the grounds, and writes detailed incident reports and accident investigation reports.
  • Call the VA or local Police Department in cases of emergency and provide assistance if needed.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Officer.

Schedule: PT: Sundays and Mondays swing shift; 8 hours/day

Qualifications
  •  
  • Must  be a citizen of the United States or an alien who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence as evidenced by Alien Registration Receipt Card Form 1-51.
  • Each employee shall maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of residence.
  • Each employee shall provide a copy of their driver’s record to the contractor prior to beginning work on a federal site.

  •  Must be fluent in English; including speaking clearly, reading and comprehending the intent of the document(s) and writing clear and concise reports.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older prior to completing the fingerprints.
  •  Must have the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position without risk to themselves or others.

  • qualifications of the unarmed guards may be subject to review by the VA Medical Center Police Department, if necessary.
  • Must shall have a high school education or equivalent.
  •  Unarmed guards shall possess two (2) years experience that demonstrates the following:
    • The ability to meet and deal with the public,
    • The ability to maintain pose and self-control under duress and
      • The ability to maintain pose and self-control under duress and
      • The ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports.
    • Military service is accreditable toward the above experience requirement.
    • The duties of the guard position(s) require moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or the duties may be hazardous in nature. The following medical requirements apply to all guard candidates: good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors, and ability to hear the conversational voice. Applicants and employees must possess emotional and mental stability. The candidates should be in good general health and be able to pass a medical examination attesting to the candidate’s overall health and well-being.

Skills Required
