How you’ll contribute 

An Ultrasound Technologist who excels in this role:

 

  • Provides quality ultrasound studies to include abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvis, breast, and testicular small parts for use by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness.

  • Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician delivery of care and services

  • Maintains appropriate files, supplies and equipment.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area.

  • Notifies supervisor of needed items

  • Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity

  • Provides age-appropriate care to all patients

  • Acts as a physician/staff consultant and educational resources for appropriateness and accuracy of scans

What we’re looking for 
Applicants should have a current Michigan RDMS license and possess a degree from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:

  • Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology Required; Graduate from an accredited RDMS program

  • Licenses: ARRT OR RDMS Certification (or meets Education Requirements from accredited RDMS program)

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • ARRT should have one year of RDMS experience (preferred)

Skills Required

  • Current Michigan RDMS license
  • Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology (accredited RDMS program)
  • ARRT or RDMS Certification (or meets education requirements from accredited RDMS program)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and testicular small parts sonographic exams
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in stressful environments
