Job Description
Performs ultrasound examinations. Calibrates equipment, as needed. Coordinates ultrasound activities and patient flow with Supervisors and the Control Office.
Job Responsibility
1.Performs all Ultrasound examinations presently being offered at Southside Hospital. 2.Orients new Ultrasound Technologists and students and evaluates them. 3.Participates in quality control and quality assurance programs. 4.Keeps the room in an orderly fashion. 5.Works with the Radiologists with new concepts in Ultrasound. 6.Keeps records and provides census information. 7.Processes and oversees processing of films. 8.Calibrates equipment and camera as needed. 9.Assigns patients to come down to the Department. 10.Assigns other duties as needed for the proper flow of patients. 11.Coordinates and schedules all patients in Ultrasound with the Control Office. 12.Works cooperatively and maintains ethical relationships with all patients and personnel in the proper conduct of the Department. 13.Maintains proficiency and understanding in the treatment and care of infant, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients. 14.Sends exams to PACS archive. 15.Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions
Job Qualification
Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program, required.
Registry in a specific sonography specialty appropriate to the position with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), required.
Experience in sonography specialty appropriate to the position, required.
Hospital experience, preferred.
