Ultrasound Technologist – FT – OB/GYN Associates – Florence
Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist I operates ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images of internal organs, tissues, and structures. This role requires technical expertise, strong patient care skills, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The technologist collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to provide accurate imaging that supports diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort.
- Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures (e.g., abdominal and obstetric) following established protocols.
- Review images for clarity and completeness; collaborates with radiologists and physicians for interpretation.
- Documents imaging findings and maintains accurate patient records in the EMR system.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program required.
Five (5) years of ultrasound experience, preferably in OB/GYN, preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must hold one of the following credentials:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Technologist in Sonography (RT(S)) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Registered Technologist in Vascular Sonography (RT(VS)) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards (SCRQS) certification
Essential Skills:
- Strong computer skills.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
