Responsibilities:
- Performs ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts, by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. Transports patient to and from exam room/table, prepares and maintains room. Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality. Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.
- Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
- Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
- Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
- Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
- Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Other / Certificate Graduation from an accredited program for diagnostic medical sonography Preferred
- Associates Preferred
- Other >10 months clinical ultrasound experience Required
- Sonography Principles & Instrumentation - Certificate American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification at the time of hire Required
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: • Abdomen • Breast • Obstetrics and Gynecology • Pediatric Sonography • Vascular Technology 1 Year Required
- Two (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials. Preferred

Skills Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
- Associate degree
- >10 months clinical ultrasound experience
- ARDMS SPI certification eligible (pass SPI exam)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) license or RVT credential (passing one specialty exam: Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, or Vascular Technology)
- Two or more ARDMS specialty credentials
