Job Description

Summary:

The Teledyne group provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability. These markets include digital imaging, aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.

The role will focus on Corporation Tax compliance, reporting and accounting for Teledyne group entities in the UK, with a particular focus on the Qioptiq and FLIR businesses.  There are opportunities to expand the role to cover additional Teledyne entities internationally.

As part of the UK Tax team, reporting directly to the UK Head of Tax. The UK Tax team is part of the Teledyne Group Tax team located across USA, Canada, UK and continental Europe. There will be substantial coordination with the wider UK Tax team located in Chelmsford as well as other UK business sites.

We’re looking for a team player with a flexible can-do approach with strong attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Monthly, quarterly and annual preparation of current and deferred tax estimates for Teledyne Group US GAAP and UK statutory reporting including:

  • Preparation of general ledger journals

  • Preparation of current tax rollforward analysis (including tax payment and refund data) and deferred tax detail

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly Group tax submissions using TXP software

  • Supporting other ad hoc requests

• Support preparation of corporation tax computations and returns in conjunction with outsourced tax provider including:

  • Detailed analysis of tax sensitive GL accounts and fixed assets

  • Provision of data and analysis required for UK patent box claims

  • Preparation of RDEC calculations for review and coordination of technical write up

• Provide support for:

  • Calculation of UK Corporation Tax payments

  • HMRC Corporation Tax enquiries and questions

  • Transfer pricing documentation and implementation

  • Tax governance processes

  • Other ad hoc projects, including acquisitions and legal entity restructurings

• Tax qualification preferred

• Ideally with accounting qualification or experience

• Experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP/SAP4Hana, and/or Microsoft AX

• Experience of preparing tax packs/returns, ideally with exposure to tax software

• Minimum of intermediate Excel skills

• Excellent planning and organisational skills
