Job Description:
Your new role
UK NDT Responsible Level III
Regional – home based with travel
18-month FTC
The UK NDT Responsible Level III is responsible for Leading and managing all Vehicle NDT activities ensuring compliance to the correct standard.

Responsible for all NDT Operator Training and Certification for HRUK in accordance with BS EN ISO 9712, SNT-TC-1A 2020. This will Include PT, MPI, EC, UT activities both manual and advanced methods.

Responsibility to ensure BS EN 15085-5, RIS 2701, BS EN ISO 14731 B14, B15, & B19 & BS EN ISO 3834 series standards are integrated, sites are compliant, and NDT methods meet all requirements.

Work closely with QC section leaders to understand scope and demand of NDT activities across the UK.

Working within the RWC team, the UK NDT responsible level III will support all project phase activities and transfer of work scope.

Manage and lead all external and internal NDT, ensuring compliance to all relevant standards.

Technical consultation into the management of non-conformance and any corrective actions ensuring all std’s and legislations are achieved.

Management of welding sub-contractor NDT activities, including approval of Pre-FAI documents, NDT procedures and techniques.

Management HRUK-WELD-PRO-XXX inspection procedure and approvals.

Management of developing all NDT processes.

Conduct or Co-ordinate NDT surveillance within production areas to ensure adherence to NDT work instructions.

Support the introduction of new projects ensuring inspections requirements are covered pre, during and post project.

Support weld failure investigation in service.

Support inspection test plan and quality control plan creation, ensure sequence of build and inspection sequencing is controlled.

Responsible for the development, review and approval of NDT work instructions, representative sample validation ensuring acceptable acceptance criteria has been defined.

Responsible for NDT equipment and selection of.
-
Support CAPEX, OPEX creation for process improvements and introduction of new equipment for weld and inspection.

Financial awareness regarding budget control and capital investment.

Build and develop the UK NDT team to deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements.

Working with the Quality team on final inspection and control of records and traceability of NDT operations.

Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.

Problem solving technical and production constraints with solutions.

Lead, support a plant quality meeting (PQM) as an essential stakeholder to performance in weld areas.
About you
Skills & Experience
-
10 years hands on NDT experience
-
5 years' experience as an NDT Level III, QC supervisor, QC manager or technical manager.
-
Significant knowledge of all NDT Methods
-
Experience of working to the BS EN ISO 15085 & RIS 2701 standards
-
Previous involvement in large and complex projects or rolling stock contracts
-
The ability to work on own initiative, a self-starter willing to take responsibility for delivery of goals and objectives
-
Proven ability to multitask and work across production, engineering and quality departments
-
Excellent analytical and communication skills
-
Subject matter expert in NDT
Qualifications
-
BS EN ISO 9712 Level III or ASNT Level III.
