Roles and Responsibilities
In conjunction with external tax advisers, assist across the UK and European entities with:
- Preparation of VAT and indirect tax returns;
- Preparation of corporation tax return; and
- Maintenance and enhancement of transfer pricing documentation.
Assist with:
- Preparing tax disclosures for statutory accounts, regulatory returns and Group reporting;
- Liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely provision of tax information;
- Designing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation and data quality;
- Maintaining and documenting robust tax controls within the overall risk management framework;
- Responding to IPT queries;
- Producing payment-on-account estimates for settlement with HMRC and relevant European tax authorities;
- Supporting implementation of tax regulatory developments (e.g. BEPS Pillar Two); and
- Supporting ad hoc tax projects, reporting requests and business initiatives.
Experience
- Minimum three years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience within the insurance sector, including Lloyd’s syndicates, preferred.
- Working knowledge of UK and European tax requirements, including:
- Corporation Tax
- VAT
- Insurance Premium Tax (IPT)
- Experience liaising with external tax advisers.
- Experience improving and maintaining tax accounting processes and procedures.
