The UI/UX Designer is responsible for the overall consumer-facing digital user experience at Service Corporation International, including that of websites and various other digital assets, such as delivering high-performing conversion optimized landing pages and digital ad assets.
This individual will research and create user journeys, using findings and industry best practices to design aesthetically appealing and functional user experiences. Facilitate the development of user experiences across SCI’s network of websites and digital products.
This position will be a part of a growing Digital Marketing Team and will be a key player in major website feature enhancements. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to best-in-class marketing strategies and create digital products that will revolutionize the funeral industry.
Working Hours:
Houston-based: Hybrid schedule, in-office 50% of time, every two weeks (Tues + Wed one week, Tues + Wed + Thurs one week) The rest working from home.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Implementation
- Create sketches, user flows, wireframes, visual design comps, interaction designs and high-fidelity prototypes for responsive consumer-facing websites and internal applications
- Develop holistic design systems in Figma to support consistency across websites and applications
- for different brands and products
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to jointly develop new impactful features across digital web properties
- Collaborate with SEM and content teams to ensure content and design seamlessly work together to achieve the objective of high conversion goals
- Collaborate with front end developers and IT to create digital experiences
- Oversee the design lifecycle for new product and feature development, and develop and maintain our design system and processes
- Independently initiate enhancements to improve user experience and conversion rate
- Design the visual language for digital products, ensuring alignment with SCI’s brand guidelines
- Test designed featured and enhancements in a test or stage environment prior to public release
- User Experience Research
- Create comprehensive test scripts for use in unmoderated qualitative testing using an approved vendor and administering those user tests on a consistent basis
- Analyze user test results, translate into potential features and enhancements
- Conduct routine A/B tests on different areas of the website as well as landing pages in order to identify the highest performer
- Routinely review customer feedback recordings from online vendors and propose solutions for any observed pain points.
Administrative
- Maintain online web style guide and universal component assets
- Keep current with UI/UX trends and best practices and routinely contribute findings
- internal subject matter expert for UI/UX and web accessibility
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in web/interaction design, computer/human interface, information design, graphic design or related field
Experience
- At least 4-6 years' experience in user-centered research and design for responsive, cross- browser and mobile experiences
- Experience creating and implementing design systems in Figma
- Experience administering unmoderated user testing
- Experience working in an Agile environment/team a plus.
- Experience working in a/b testing methodologies and projects.
- Experience in both e-commerce and AI-centered work a plus.
- Familiarity with responsive front-end frameworks like Bootstrap a plus.
- Familiarity with Sitecore CMS and Google Analytics a plus.
- Strong ability to conceptualize and communicate visually
- Strong working knowledge of Figma or XD. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and its various tools (Illustrator for vector work, Photoshop for editing photos)
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is required; experience with JavaScript/JQuery, iOS and Android, a plus
- Effectively communicate UI/UX recommendations and presentations, including senior leadership and other areas of Marketing as a whole
- Ability to output findings from user tests and communicative learnings to the team
- Quickly adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to the needs of the business/KPI
- Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
- Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Fast learner
- Temperament and collaboration style open to routine reviews and constructive criticism with fellow Design team members
