The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional UI/UX Engineer to join our growing product team. This role requires a creative problem-solver with 5-7 years of experience who can bridge the gap between design and development, creating intuitive user experiences for complex AI systems. The ideal candidate will own the entire design-to-development pipeline, conduct user research, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver exceptional digital experiences that make AI accessible and actionable for high-stakes environments.
Key Requirements
- Design Strategy & User Experience Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive UX strategies aligned with product vision and business objectives
- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to understand complex user workflows in high-stakes environments
- Create user personas, journey maps, and experience frameworks for AI-driven applications
- Design information architectures and interaction patterns that simplify complex AI concepts
- Present design strategies and user insights to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Design System Development & Implementation
- Build and maintain comprehensive design systems, component libraries, and style guides
- Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interactive demonstrations using modern design tools
- Develop responsive designs that work seamlessly across web, mobile, and tablet experiences
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs
- Establish design quality standards and review processes to maintain consistency
- Frontend Development & Technical Execution
- Translate designs into clean, efficient, and maintainable frontend code using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS
- Implement responsive layouts, animations, and micro-interactions that enhance user experience
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow
- Optimize frontend performance and accessibility to meet enterprise-grade standards
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on frontend best practices
- User-Centered Innovation & Testing
- Plan and conduct user testing sessions, A/B tests, and design validation experiments
- Analyze user behavior data and feedback to identify improvement opportunities and design iterations
- Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new design approaches and features
- Monitor design metrics and KPIs to measure success and inform future design decisions
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design principles across all product experiences
Qualifications
- Design & Development Expertise
- 5-7 years of UI/UX design and frontend development experience, preferably in technology or SaaS environments
- Proven portfolio showcasing successful design and development of complex web applications
- Strong proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar)
- Advanced frontend development skills in React, Vue, Flutter, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ES6+
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, and modern frontend build tools
- User Research & Strategic Thinking
- Exceptional ability to conduct user research and translate insights into actionable design decisions
- Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking methodologies, and human-computer interaction
- Experience designing for complex workflows and data-heavy applications
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to balance user needs with technical constraints
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design practices
- Technical Skills & Collaboration
- Experience with version control systems (Git), agile development, and CI/CD workflows
- Knowledge of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development
- Familiarity with API integration, state management (Redux/Context), and modern React patterns
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to present design concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work effectively with product managers, engineers, and business teams
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, HCI, or related field
- Experience designing for AI/ML applications, data visualization, or analytics platforms
- Knowledge of backend technologies and database design principles
- Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, government, defense)
- Contributions to open-source projects or design community involvement
- Portfolio demonstrating mobile app design and development experience

- Reduce frontend bug reports by 30% through improved code quality and testing practices

- Lead design innovation through rapid prototyping and design experimentation
