Position Summary: 

We are looking for a hands-on UI Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team working on Digital banking solutions. More than 4 trillion payments originate from our Digital banking solutions every year and 17 of the top 50 US banks, by asset size, use our solutions. 

Our UI team continues to deliver compelling user experiences built with modern UI technologies to large banks and financial institutions around the world. We are looking to add the right individual to our highly skilled and dedicated UI Development group.  

Your role is going to be crucial in shaping the future of our Digital banking solutions. You will be building high performing teams, encouraging an innovative problem-solving approach & optimizing and driving engineering excellence. 

You should possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, formal and informal), and be comfortable managing teams that have autonomy and complete ownership. 

 

This position is based at our Bangalore, India office.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide creative leadership and technical expertise with hands on coding, to guide the development and enhancement of our solutions. 
  • Collaborate with product designers and UX specialists to refine component specifications and translate those designs into UI Components. 
  • Contribute to Bottomline’s UI Design Library 

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, implementation teams, Production support, and operations, to ensure best-in-class customer experience. 
  • Think differently and foster a culture of curiosity, reasoning and innovation. 
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, conduct regular 1:1s, and provide constructive feedback to nurture individual and team growth. 
  • Establish and enforce stringent quality practices, Non-functional standards and best practices throughout the engineering process to deliver products that exceed customer expectations. 
  • Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes. 

 

We’re excited about you if you have:  

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. 
  • 4+ years of leadership/management experience with a team of 8-10 engineers 
  • Technical Expertise 
  • High technical credibility - ability to audit technical decisions and push for the best solution to a problem. 
  • Strong JavaScript knowledge, both ES5 and ES6 
  • A strong proponent of clean, valid, maintainable, and semantically correct HTML and CSS 
  • In-depth knowledge of the capabilities of Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome 
  • Working experience with WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA success criteria 
  • Experience with React a plus 
  • A strong understanding of Responsive Design principles 
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests 
  • Emphasis on functional programming a plus 
  • Ability and willingness to analyze and integrate inputs from technical and business resources to draw clear conclusions. 
  • Ability to see the big picture, while not losing sight of necessary details 
  • Proven track record of leading productive engineering teams and shipping world class products
