UI Art Lead (Unannounced Project)

Based in Guildford, DPS Games is looking for an exceptionally skilled UI Artist to play a critical role in the development of our ‘AAA’ free-to-play title. The candidate will be a self-motivated team player who will work closely with the Creative Team to drive and deliver all 2d UI for the game, including everything from in game HUD, to menus and icons and even the game logo. A passion for UX and drive to deliver exceptional experiences.

They will possess excellent verbal and written skills using these to play a pivotal role in our internal and external feedback and critique discussions. In this position they will be working within a multidisciplinary team of developers in a global community and sharing knowledge as well as developing new skills.

We are looking for someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously and can balance a strong work and play ethic.  Integrating themselves seamlessly into our team and studio culture.

The UI Art Lead will report to the Art Director

• Create clear and engaging user experience
• Create functional user interface elements
• Lead and guide UI art team
• Set tasks and manage UI art team
• Set UI visual and usability quality bar
• Communicate effectively with other departments

• Art education (knowledge of artistic principles: composition, colour, light)
• Availability of previously released projects (portfolio is required)
• Deep understanding of pipelines and tools for producing 3D and 2D game content
• High leadership and communication skills
• Ability to understand and evaluate UI/UX

• Experience in other 3rd party UI editors such as Scaleform or Coherent
• Experience with Unreal Engine UMG
• Love for video games
