As a UAV Flight Testing and Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers supporting the development, preparation, and testing of the Hornet Interceptor, a high performance electric UAV. From preparing aircraft for flight to collecting valuable test data, you will gain hands on experience across the entire flight testing process while contributing to the evolution of cutting edge aerospace technology.

RequirementsWhat You'll Do
  • Support the preparation of the Hornet Interceptor for ground and flight testing by inspecting aircraft systems, avionics, propulsion, and onboard equipment
  • Perform pre flight inspections and verify that all hardware and software configurations are ready for testing
  • Collaborate with engineering and workshop teams to ensure the UAV is properly assembled and configured for each mission
  • Assist during flight test campaigns by supporting aircraft launch, monitoring operations, and recovery activities
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues during testing alongside experienced engineers
  • Collect, organize, and document flight test data for post flight analysis
  • Contribute to technical reports, test documentation, and engineering recommendations based on flight results
  • Assist in maintaining flight test equipment, tools, and operational readiness
  • Participate in engineering discussions, providing observations and feedback to improve testing procedures and aircraft performance
  • Support additional engineering and operational activities as projects evolve
What You'll Need
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Strong interest in UAV technology, flight testing, and autonomous systems
  • Basic understanding of aircraft systems, flight control, sensors, or electric propulsion is an advantage
  • Ability to read and produce clear technical documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Hands on experience through university projects, laboratories, robotics competitions, Formula Student, UAV teams, or personal engineering projects is highly valued
  • Experience with hardware assembly, electronics, mechanical systems, or testing activities is a plus
  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams in a fast moving engineering environment

Skills Required
