Job Description

The Turnaround Support professional plays a critical role in the successful planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of turnaround, outage, shutdown, and maintenance activities across FLINT projects. This position is responsible for supporting field operations through schedule development, work package coordination, resource planning, material tracking, and progress monitoring to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements.

Working collaboratively with operations teams, planners, schedulers, clients, contractors, and project leadership, the Turnaround Support professional helps maintain alignment between project objectives, schedules, resources, and execution strategies. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding of industrial maintenance activities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What would you be doing?

Turnaround Planning & Coordination

Support turnaround and outage planning activities by:

  • Assisting with the development of work packages, job plans, and execution schedules.
  • Coordinating turnaround activities with operations, maintenance, and client teams.
  • Participating in scope walkdowns and pre-job planning meetings.
  • Supporting look-ahead planning and work prioritization activities.
  • Identifying scheduling conflicts, resource requirements, and execution constraints.

Scheduling & Progress Tracking

Support successful turnaround execution through:

  • Maintaining and updating turnaround schedules and planning documents.
  • Monitoring project progress against established schedules and milestones.
  • Assisting with manpower forecasting and resource planning activities.
  • Tracking critical path activities and communicating schedule impacts.
  • Preparing progress reports and performance updates for project leadership.

Materials & Work Package Support

Help ensure crews have the resources required for successful execution by:

  • Creating material take-offs and supporting material procurement activities.
  • Tracking material availability and coordinating with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining work package documentation.
  • Supporting work order creation and maintenance within client systems.
  • Ensuring project documentation is accurate, complete, and current. 

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Support project success by:

  • Working closely with field supervisors, planners, schedulers, and client representatives.
  • Communicating schedule changes, risks, and emerging concerns.
  • Assisting with project KPI tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout all turnaround activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting turnarounds, shutdowns, outages, maintenance planning, scheduling, or industrial project coordination activities. 
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with scheduling and maintenance software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Maximo, or equivalent systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint. 
  • Technical trade certification, technical diploma, or related post-secondary education is preferred. 
  • Previous experience in industrial construction, maintenance, energy, petrochemical, or oil and gas environments is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Skills Required
