Role Overview
We are seeking a Turbonomic Specialist / Cloud Optimization Analyst to lead resource performance optimization across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. This role focuses on ensuring applications run efficiently while maintaining performance, compliance, and cost objectives using IBM Turbonomic. You will work closely with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to drive automation, visibility, and continuous optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Turbonomic Implementation & Management
- Implement, configure, and manage IBM Turbonomic for application resource management and optimization.
- Monitor workload performance and resource utilization across on‑premises and cloud environments.
Optimization & Automation
- Analyze performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities for compute, storage, and networking.
- Automate resource allocation decisions to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
- Develop policies and workflows to drive autonomous optimization across cloud and virtualized platforms.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with cloud, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, and application teams to align optimization strategies with business goals.
- Integrate Turbonomic with existing ecosystem tools such as Apptio, Cloudability, or other FinOps platforms.
Reporting & Insights
- Create dashboards and reports to track performance, utilization, savings, and optimization impact.
- Present insights to leadership and stakeholders to support decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
- Support ongoing enhancements, including integrations with automation and orchestration tools.
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud optimization technologies and best practices.
Must‑Have Skills
- Hands‑on experience with IBM Turbonomic or similar application resource management/optimization tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.).
- Experience with performance monitoring, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret data and recommend actionable improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Familiarity with automation/orchestration tools: Ansible, Terraform, etc.
- Experience integrating Turbonomic with FinOps/TBM tools (Apptio, Cloudability).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, container platforms, and container resource optimization.
