Job Summary:
The Tufting Creeler Lead will oversee and coordinate labor for the Tufting Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the Tufting Department.
- Coordinate labor in the Tufting Department.
- Expedite orders in a smooth and orderly manner through the Tufting manufacturing processes.
- Verify manufacturing data on Tufting orders.
- Responsible for the daily assignment of labor in the Tufting Department.
- Responsible for the assignment of Tufting orders with guidance from the Tufting Supervisor.
- Direct the movement of setup crews to maximize Tufting efficiencies.
- Coordinate the priority list with the Tufting Scheduling Board.
- Participate in and audit J&J’s Safety Program.
- Responsible for daily shop order maintenance.
- Maintain continued involvement in departmental quality improvement.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Standing is required approximately 3 hours per shift.
- Stooping is required approximately 20 times per shift for approximately 3 minutes each time.
- Bending is required approximately 20 times per shift to check carpet.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, pull, reach, handle, crouch, crawl, stoop, speak, hear, and write.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, lift, and kneel.
- Must have close vision, depth perception, and color perception.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of experience in a Tufting environment is required.
- Efficient use of Microsoft Office software.
Other Requirements:
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, and organizational/planning abilities are required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- High energy level.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift, day or night, weekday or weekend, as scheduled.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required.
- Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Responsible for the quality and safety of his/her own output.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three or more years of experience in a tufting environment
- Efficient use of Microsoft Office software
