Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer – Triton IFC Lead & Enterprise SW Coordinator to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego CA. This position requires full-time on-site work.

The selected candidate will report to the Triton Systems Engineering IPT Lead and will lead a team of engineers in the Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) Management discipline while serving as a program consultant for horizontal integration of software processes and procedures across the Triton enterprise.

In this role, the selected candidate will lead the development and certification of Triton IFCs with an emphasis of software development of new Triton capabilities. Key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the IFC strategy, content/ECP roadmaps, and schedule aligned with Triton program objectives.
  • Align IFC processes to align with renewed focus on horizontal integration of SW builds
  • Lead DevOps team with focus on executing multiple IFCs simultaneously across Triton Enterprise
  • Oversee IFC release scope, planning, and alignment to Agile development and PI planning processes.
  • Lead and oversee PI planning and Agile Software development/build activities across Triton Development, Production, and Sustainment program areas.
  • Coordinate with Triton IPTs to promote and ensure consistency in software Processes, Standards, Work Instructions, Tools, Test, Products, and Documentations in Triton Enterprise.
  • Coordinate with Triton IPTs to promote and implement automation in software development, integration, and test.
  • Manage IFC requirements definition, traceability, and certification processes ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Coordinate cross-IPT efforts to integrate subsystem and supplier changes into IFC releases, managing impacts and risks.
  • Lead the resolution of Software/IFC problems and discrepancy reports through collaboration with engineering leads and change control boards.
  • Collect, maintain track, and analyze Software and IFC technical metrics to support timely delivery and certification milestones.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) in the following areas: Computer Science, or Software, Computer, Electrical Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering and at least 14 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 12 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and at least 10 years of related experience.
  • Experience managing Software or IFC processes, including requirements integration, test, and certification.
  • Leadership experience performing software/systems engineering coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Agile development processes, PI planning, and release management in complex programs.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead program-level efforts with minimal oversight and deliver to schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership in IFC definition and planning
  • Intimate knowledge of software development standards and best practices
  • Familiarity with software/hardware integration processes specific to the Triton program or similar platforms.
  • Experience collaborating closely with customers and leadership on status reporting and risk management.
  • Knowledge of AI applications and practices in software automation, development, integration, and/or test.
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence and TeamCenter or similar toolsets for tracking metrics and documentation.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
