College degree in job related field (e.g. Engineering , Textiles, etc.) or other suitable technical degree preferred.
3+ years job related experience
Desirable, to have completed 2 or more Program launch cycles.
Summary
Has the ability to lead the development of a row set with multiple trim codes and/or lower scope program under the direction of the Lead or Principal Engineer. Able to take direction and use basic engineering practices to develop and implement solutions that meet the craftsmanship expectation and cost objectives of the program. Provides complete seat and foam engineering input/direction to achieve flawless seat appearance and craftsmanship.Has the ability to lead the development of a row set with multiple trim codes and/or lower scope program under the direction of the Lead or Principal Engineer. Technical Skills:
• Pattern Development - Able to complete patterns for craftsmanship build and DV testing with minimal direction.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply one or more basic problem solving techniques (eg. BEP, Kepner-Tregoe, Six-Sigma, etc.) to help solve a real-world issue.
• Trim Cover Construction: knowledge of trim cover construction process.
• Equipment Knowledge: Moderate knowledge of equipment used in trim cover creation (NC Cutter, Sewing Machines etc.)
• Safety Requirements within a trim cover
• Standard components used within a trim cover.
• Knowledge of Trim Manufacturing requirements
• Knowledge of Material specifications and quidelines
• Understanding of 2D component and product drawings.
• Ability to define and document changes using EPIC, Optitex, and/or similar systems as needed.
• Moderate proficiency in Trim cover development from a 2D or 3D information source(ie drawings or CAD).
• Basic understanding of 3D CAD Models and Vehicle environments.
Ability to provide the engineering and program team with timely and accurate feed back.
