To support this mission, Syngenta’s Seeds Development Team is seeking a Trialing and Product Placement Lead in the Antalya site in Turkey. This role will lead late-stage vegetable product trialing and placement, ensuring high-quality product characterisation and effective portfolio advancement across crops and market segments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent trialing and phenotypic data collection, overseeing relevant product advancement and placement activities and partnering with regional marketing and sales teams to strengthen pipeline effectiveness and meet customer needs.
Accountabilities
- Leading the team that drives end-to-end execution of R&D trials to evaluate the performance of experimental seed varieties/hybrids
- Ensuring high quality trialing process across all activities from sowing to harvest
- Overseeing high-quality product characterization aligned with Target Product Profile (TPP)
- Overseeing product placement scientist contributions to product advancement and placement
- Continuously elevating skillset of trialing teams on new phenotyping technologies and digital tools to increase data accuracy and data collection efficiency
- Ensuring timely deployment and broad adoption of new technologies in country/region
- Ensuring operational planning and tracking, accurately allocating budget and forecasting in contribution of effective resource allocation across Commercial Region
- Leading continuous improvement of trialing process and trialing network optimization within country/region
- Scouting and managing third-party contracts and/or agreements to ensure optimal trial management and trialing locations
- Effectively communicating product placement insights and product knowledge to marketing and sales teams in the country/region
- Ensuring safe operations and maintenance of seed research equipment for mechanical planting, automated harvest and beyond
- Leading all HSE and Stewardship practices and ensuring compliance with all company policies
- PhD or MS in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Breeding or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in seed industry after PhD or 7+ years after MS
- Extensive experience in commercial breeding, product development and characterization
- Experience in dealing with small hold farmers and hands on on-site experience
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership and stakeholder management
- Strong knowledge of the industry, local market and region
- Fluency in English (C1 – C3) verbal and written communication
