Role Overview
The Treasury Specialist is responsible for the independent execution of core treasury operations across global entities, including payment processing, treasury booking, bank reconciliation, and reporting.
The role ensures accuracy, control, and compliance of financial transactions, while actively managing exceptions, resolving issues, and supporting a robust control environment. The position plays a key role in delivering standardized, efficient, and scalable Treasury processes within GBS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payment Processing & Control
Execute and validate payment transactions via SAP, TIS, and banking platforms
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of payment instructions prior to release
Perform control checks in line with internal control standards (ICS)
Handle payment-related queries, confirmations, and investigations end-to-end
Identify and resolve payment exceptions in coordination with stakeholders
2. Treasury Booking & Accounting
Perform booking of treasury transactions, including FX deals (hedges, loans, deposits), money market transactions, commercial paper repayments, and interest-related activities
Process treasury-related postings such as salary bookings, cash journals, and rebookings
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper audit trail for all postings
3. Bank Reconciliation & G/L Management
Perform bank reconciliation activities and ensure timely identification and resolution of discrepancies
Manage clearing of G/L accounts, including entity-specific and treasury-related accounts
Monitor open items and drive resolution with relevant stakeholders
Ensure reconciliation completeness and accuracy within defined timelines
4. Reporting & Data Analysis
Prepare and review treasury reports (payment activity, reconciliation status, exception tracking)
Extract and validate data from SAP, TIS, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, TIP)
Analyze data to identify inconsistencies, trends, and potential risks
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting outputs
5. Risk, Compliance & Issue Resolution
Ensure adherence to Treasury policies, SOPs, and internal control requirements
Perform control checks (e.g., G/L, risk, fraud-related validations)
Handle and resolve routine operational issues across treasury processes
Investigate discrepancies, ensure timely resolution, and escalate complex issues as appropriate
Maintain proper documentation for audit, compliance, and issue tracking
6. Stakeholder Coordination & Continuous Improvement
Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders (AP, O2C, A2R, Local Finance)
Coordinate issue resolution and ensure timely communication of updates
Support alignment between GBS and global Treasury teams
Identify process inefficiencies and support standardization and automation initiatives
Contribute to process documentation, knowledge sharing, and migration of new activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
2–4 years of experience in Treasury, Finance Operations, or Shared Services
Strong understanding of payment processing, treasury transactions, and reconciliation
Experience with SAP, TIS, or banking platforms is an advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
