About the Role
The Treasury Risk Manager is responsible for managing the Group’s core financial market risks across cash, liquidity and funding, foreign exchange, interest rates and working capital.

The role owns the end-to-end daily financial risk management process for the Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring exposures are identified, quantified, managed and monitored accurately and within approved policies, limits and risk appetite.

Working across Treasury, Finance and the broader business, the role provides trusted financial risk advice, supports effective decision-making and maintains strong relationships with banks, financiers and market counterparties. The role also provides cross-team coverage and support for the Treasurer – Risk Management, helping maintain continuity of execution and decision-making across Treasury.

A key focus is driving smarter, AI-enabled ways of working by embedding practical automation and AI tools into Treasury processes, analysis and reporting to strengthen accuracy, controls, timeliness and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Cash, Liquidity and FX Management

  • Own the daily cash forecasting, liquidity, funding and FX risk management process, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Identify, quantify, execute and monitor short- and long-term FX exposures within Treasury Policy, approved limits and Delegations of Authority.
  • Maintain effective controls, reconciliations and escalation of exceptions.

Financial Market Risk Management

  • Manage the Group’s FX and interest rate exposures to minimise adverse impacts on profitability and cash flow.
  • Develop and execute hedging strategies, including derivative structuring, pricing and sensitivity analysis.
  • Monitor financial markets and emerging risks, providing timely recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with Treasury Policy, Board mandates and regulatory requirements.

Risk Analysis and Reporting

  • Deliver accurate financial risk measurement, modelling and reporting for management, the Board and rating agencies.
  • Undertake scenario analysis and stress testing across FX, interest rates, liquidity and funding.
  • Maintain strong documentation, controls and audit trails.

 

Working Capital and Business Partnering

  • Oversee the Group’s working capital framework, reporting and optimisation initiatives.
  • Provide trusted financial risk advice and analysis to support key business and commercial decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across Treasury, Finance, Trading & Shipping and other business functions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with banks, financiers and market counterparties to support competitive services and execution capability.

​​​​​​​Treasury Collaboration and Improvement

  • Provide subject-matter expertise and cross-team coverage across Treasury Capital and Operations.
  • Step up for the Treasurer – Risk Management when required to support continuity of oversight and decision-making.
  • Embed practical AI and automation into Treasury processes, analysis and reporting while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
  • Contribute to Treasury projects, capability-building and continuous improvement

Experience & Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, commerce, economics or another quantitative discipline.
  • Five or more years’ experience in treasury, financial markets or banking within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong experience managing cash, liquidity, FX and interest rate exposures, including financial modelling, hedging and derivative execution.
  • Practical experience applying AI or automation to Treasury processes, analysis or reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury policies, controls, financial instruments and risk frameworks.
  • Proven ability to deliver time-critical processes accurately, exercise sound judgement and communicate complex financial risks clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business and with external counterparties.
  • Energy, commodity trading or capital-intensive industry experience is highly regarded.
  • CA, CPA, CFA, postgraduate finance qualifications and experience with FIS, Bloomberg or Refinitiv are desirable.
