Job Description:

At Regions, the Staff Accountant uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve routine-to-moderately complex accounting or operational issues, prepares and analyzes financial results for reports, and partners with internal and external clients to meet reporting needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completes accounting and reporting requirements for select business groups including planning and analysis
  • Monitors compliance and accounting practices to ensure that they are following bank policies
  • Provides general ledger research and ensures the integrity of accounting information
  • May interact with various levels of internal and external clients to obtain or provide information and/or resolve issues for assigned tasks, accounts, and legal entities
  • May assist with completion of quarterly and Annual regulatory filings
  • Works with accounting and operational systems that support business groups or the overall bank

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and three (3) years of accounting, corporate finance or directly related experience
  • Or High School Diploma and seven (7) years of directly related accounting or corporate finance experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels
  • Effective analytical and research skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting systems, and practices
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word

Additional Preferences

  • Understanding of financial instruments including bonds and derivatives

  • Knowledge of Back Office processing including wire transfers and trade settlement

  • Knowledge of Treasury Funding products including CDs, FHLB Advances, LT Debt, Repo

  • Knowledge of margin processing for MSFTA and ISDA agreements

  • Reg/SEC reporting for Investments, Debt, and Derivative portfolios

  • Systems: TPG, Calypso, Bloomberg terminal, Bloomberg MARS/HEFF, Blackrock’s Aladdin

  • Advanced Excel skills

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week.  The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations.  Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$64,945.10 USD

Median:

$90,000.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:
