SUMMARY:
The Treasury Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, staff performance, compliance, service quality, and operational effectiveness of the Treasury Management Operations team. This role provides leadership, supervision, coaching, and operational oversight to ensure efficient delivery of treasury services while maintaining compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements and client satisfaction.
The Supervisor partners with Treasury Management leadership and cross-functional business units to drive operational excellence, improve customer experience, support strategic initiatives, and maintain strong risk management practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise Treasury Operations staff.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, including annual performance evaluations, coaching, and support employee development planning.
- Manage staffing schedules, workload balancing, departmental coverage and training activities.
- Foster a high-performing, customer-focused operational culture.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and succession planning efforts.
- Address escalated employee and operational issues.
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day Treasury Management operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Supervise processing and servicing functions related to ACH, wire transfers, business online banking, sweep accounts, remote deposit capture, and related treasury services.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and bank policies.
- In conjunction with management, develop, review, and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
- Support fraud prevention initiatives and operational risk mitigation efforts.
- Monitor recorded service calls for accuracy and client experience. Providing feedback and guidance to specialists.
Customer Service & Business Partnership
- Resolve escalated customer service and operational issues.
- Collaborate with Treasury Management Officers, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, and Operations leadership.
- Promote exceptional service standards for both internal and external customers.
- Support product implementation, system enhancements, and operational readiness activities.
- May attend sales calls with prospective and existing clients.
Process Improvement & Strategic Support
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Participate in strategic operational initiatives and departmental planning.
- Support audit preparation, regulatory examinations, and issue remediation efforts.
- Assist with vendor coordination, release testing, and implementation activities.
- Analyze operational trends and recommend workflow enhancements. Continually development knowledge in the field of treasury management and banking and with related products. Including ongoing education in the field of treasury management, banking and payments.
- Obtain required certifications as directed by manager, Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) designation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) designation preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, such as in treasury management or closely related financial/banking field which includes working with treasury management products and or services.
- Minimum of three (3) yrs in a supervisory capacity, preferably in treasury operations/banking or financial services environment.
- Experience managing operational workflows, service metrics, and departmental performance.
- Banking and payments.
- Obtain required certifications as directed by manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of Treasury Management products, services, and operational processes.
- Thorough understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational risk controls.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of Treasury Management platforms, core banking systems, and digital banking technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
