THE POSITION
The Travel Manager leads end-to-end travel operations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™, including flights, accommodation and ground transportation.
The role requires hands-on experience with bookings, quotations, ticket issuance, reissuance, availability checks and fare rules, as well as coordinating complex group travel for major events.
Working closely with FIFA teams, airlines, suppliers and other stakeholders, the Travel Manager must combine strong operational knowledge with flexibility, empathy and a genuine service mindset.
YOUR PROFILE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage flight and hotel bookings, quotations, ticket issuance, reissuance, cancellations and refunds using Amadeus.
- Apply airline fare rules, ticketing conditions, deadlines, penalties and baggage policies.
- Coordinate travel for groups of over 100 people, including flights, accommodation, visas, ground transportation and itineraries.
- Build strong relationships with airlines, hotels, travel agencies and transportation providers.
- Negotiate rates, booking conditions and operational solutions while monitoring budgets and costs.
- Support travellers during schedule changes, disruptions, emergencies and other unexpected situations.
- Develop contingency plans and make quick, practical decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Maintain accurate travel data, reports, passenger lists and operational documentation.
- Coordinate travel requirements across multiple cities and client groups, including teams, delegations, guests, VIPs and workforce.
- Provide responsive, patient and solution-oriented service throughout the travel journey.
- Development of contingency plans for high level client groups
- Proactive identification and mitigation of operational risks
- Decision-making under high time pressure to ensure continuity of tournament operations while maintaining service levels and cost control
- Acting as an advisory interface between FIFA Functional Areas, External Stakeholders, Suppliers, Host Country Authorities, and FIFA/FWWC27 Senior leadership
- Preparation of executive-level briefings, recommendations, and decision papers related to travel strategy, pricing, and operational readiness
- Support to FIFA Partnerships in managing expectations with commercial partners in high-demand or capacity-constrained environments
- Right to work in Brazil.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Completed (business) travel agency education or business education with training in the travel industry
- Further education in tourism, event or general management
- Strong experience in the business travel industry (travel, accommodation and ground transportation)
- Excellent skills in GDS, preferably GDS Amadeus/ticketing and fare rules
- Relevant experience in project and event management

- Strong GDS experience, preferably Amadeus, with ticketing and fare rules expertise
