SUPERVISES: N/A
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, implements and maintains the Company Travel Policy and all supplemental forms
Interprets Government regulations related to travel activities and ensures all applicable regulations are followed – i.e. allowable per diem
Manages and reviews all Company traveler profiles within the Travel Agency travel program
Liaisons with Company Travel Agency to ensure all policies are properly implemented and the system is functioning correctly
Ensures all approvers and information is current, accurate and complete within the agency travel system and the direct Human Resources integration is properly updating
Coordinates with Company approvers of travel to ensure timely authorization occurs to mitigate cost increases. This includes providing guidance and explanation with regards to system generated travel exceptions.
Communicates with travelling employees to ensure travel profile is complete and all documents and information for travel is available
Assists large travel groups with regards to lodging and travel extensions
Coordinates with lodging establishments to ensure those employees without company credit cards have proper payment in place
Provides guidance to Austal travelers and Departmental Administrative Assistants with booking activities of travel as needed but does not typically perform travel booking functions on behalf of these individuals
Troubleshoots emergency travel situations and provides after hours travel assistance when necessary
Analyzes trends related to travel expenditures and makes recommendations to leadership accordingly
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
College experience is a plus
1-3 years of experience in travel related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills, customer-service driven
Must possess the ability to work in a multifaceted, high pressure environment
Highly self-motivated with ability to assess issues and initiate solutions with management
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

DISCRETION EXERCISED: A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
LIAISES WITH: All departments and travel agents or suppliers.

The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.

No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
