This is an individual contributor role that will be an integral part of the Americas accounting team. This role is the T&E (Travel and Expense) policy subject matter expert within the accounting department. The primary responsibility of this role is the accounting and review the regional travel and business expenses that are submitted through the reporting tool or facilitated through the company credit card. Expenses will be reviewed and compared to the applicable guideline with exceptions reported to finance management. This role should also contribute to process controls and efficiencies to support the dynamic nature of the activities reported through T&E. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate GL account balances and coding in accordance with GAAP, and assistance with outside audit preparation, for T&E accounts and other accounts as assigned. This role requires an experienced accounting background and is a key contributor to the accounting entries, reconciliation and monthly close process for a growing company with a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide corporate accounting review oversight of the expense reimbursements and identify any out of policy exceptions, document the exceptions and follow-up with travelers as needed to resolve items and educate employees. Ensure open balances are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Provide T&E process feedback and efficiency recommendations to accounting leadership and IT to continue building system processes and controls in support of the travel and expense policy

  • Compile monthly travel expense reporting to share with Finance leaders

  • Create and track measurement metrics on company compliance or policy exceptions including all relevant communications with employees. This documentation will be available and provided during our annual internal audit

  • Partner with various internal teams and customers to support associates that travel and any questions they have related to completing and submitting expense reports and questions related to reimbursements

  • Strong participation in the month-end close process, including journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations under the principles of US GAAP accounting

  • Prepares journal entries, including proper GL account, department, location and project cost coding with appropriate supporting documentation for T&E-related accounts as well as other financial statement accounts that are assigned to this role

  • Partnership with the Treasury organization on company credit card payments and other treasury-related tasks that are assigned to this role

  • Reconciles credit card statements to expense reports

  • Interfaces with other departments in the education and enforcement of accounting policies and/or procedures and well as providing information and support to other departments as necessary

  • Performs special accounting projects as assigned

  • Participate and assist in regular analysis of system and procedural efficiencies to ensure financial statement integrity

  • Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience in understanding and a working knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Practices.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects)

  • Concur and large ERP (Oracle or SAP) experience preferred

  • Strong reconciliation skills preferred

  • Excellent analytical, research and proven problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a multi-task deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to identify and analyze problems using sound judgment and determine solutions

  • Self-motivated, dedicated, flexible, good team player

  • Initiative and ability to own projects from start to finish including independent progress with minimal supervision

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school

  • Minimum of 3 years public or private accounting experience

  • Previous experience with travel and expense activities is required

  • Previous experience with corporate card or P-card programs is highly preferred

  • Previously accounts payable experience is helpful and desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments

  • Work conditions & other requirements

  • This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite in a shared work environment.

  • Travel may be required

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.


NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 60,800 - $ 88,200.


All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
