Job Summary

The Transporter is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the radiology department by safely transporting patients to and from various areas. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with staff, patients, families, and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; Strong communication skills; Ability to follow directions and work independently; Basic knowledge of patient care practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in patient transport or healthcare support roles preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Verify patient identity prior to transport; Safely and timely transport patients to and from departments; Operate and handle oxygen equipment appropriately; Observe patient condition including IV sites and report concerns; Assist with patient transfers; Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and transport areas; Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families; Adhere to safety, infection control, and radiation policies; Participate in quality improvement; Assist with training new employees; Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
