The Role
As a Transport Planner, you'll analyze data for efficient routing, communicate with customers and internal departments, manage resources, and handle administrative tasks related to deliveries.

Accurate allocation of resources to deliveries.  

  • Analysis of historical data, using delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, and geographic factors to develop route plans 

  • Maintaining communication with internal departments.  

  • Analysis of transportation data using TMS and other tools. 

  • Monitoring driver availability to ensure full utilisation of the fleet.  

Maximising Cost Effectiveness 

  • Assigning loads to vehicles based on capacity 

  • Monitor and optimize transportation routes to ensure maximum time and fuel efficiency.  

  • Utilising a cluster delivery approach, grouping deliveries by geographical area to reduce delivery time.  

Relationship Management 

  • Timely communication with customers, ensuring all queries are answered or directed at the correct department.  

  • Liaising with drivers and warehouse, logistics, and freight departments, to maintain smooth flow of information through the business.  

  • Coordination of special deliveries in exceptional circumstances  

  • Resolving collection and delivery issues efficiently. 

General Administration 

  • Checking in drivers at transport reception for deliveries and collections.  

  • Preparation and storage of paperwork to the highest standard.  

  • Timely record keeping using TMS (Azyra). 

  • Other administrative duties as required 

What You Bring:

  • Two years’ experience in a similar role preferred 

  • Proficiency in English language, both verbally and in writing. 

  • Knowledge of the relevant administrative applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Azyra) 

  • Knowledge of logistics processes and systems. 

  • Strong understanding of logistics and transport regulations.  

  • Knowledge of the transport market (carriers, shipping services, competitors). 

  • Geographical knowledge of Ireland. 

  • Knowledge of loading regulations, load factors, ADR. 

  • Knowledge of transport documents. 

Skills Required
