Transport Planner
What will you do?
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our transport process. You will work closely with the Senior Transport Planner, three fellow Transport Planners, and a team of approximately 45 drivers. Together, you will ensure that our customers are supplied on time and that we maintain our position as the fastest in the corrugated cardboard industry. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless logistics, balancing efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with legal requirements.
Your responsibilities:
- Creating, managing, and continuously optimizing the transport planning. You ensure that routes are planned as efficiently as possible;
- Acting as the first point of contact for both internal drivers and external transporters. You provide them with support on questions, routes, and other logistical matters;
- Strictly adhering to and enforcing regulations regarding delivery times, driving and rest times, and other legal requirements applicable within the transport sector;
- Being responsible for calling in additional transport from external carriers when needed. You ensure seamless coordination between different parties to handle any peak moments;
- Adequately handling any problems on the road, such as delays, complaints, or other challenges that may arise. You always find a solution to keep customer satisfaction high;
- Preparing and checking all necessary loading and transport documents, ensuring shipments meet administrative and legal requirements.
What are we looking for?
- You have at least a completed MBO-4 education;
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in transport planning or a similar logistics role.;
- You have a good command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- You possess topographical knowledge of the Netherlands and preferably the surrounding countries;
- You are highly skilled with the MS Office package, especially Word and Excel, and have experience with transport planning software;
- You are accurate, stress-resistant, and able to switch quickly when necessary. Additionally, you know how to prioritize and maintain an overview in busy situation;
- You have strong communication skills and are flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances.
