Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Warrens Transport Team at our Rugby site. As a Transport Planner you will be contributing to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00 - 06:00

Salary: Up to £33,000 Per Annum.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner: 

  • Work within the Transport team despatching and controlling the daily plan.
  • Update and control time critical collections and deliveries with over 120 routes within 24 hours.
  • Communicate with both warehouse and customer service regarding any delays.
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues that come up on shift.
  • Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPIs.
  • Proactively look for continuous improvements.
  • Make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.

Qualifications

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Good knowledge of EU Driver hours and WTD.
  • Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Work and Outlook.
  • Experience of transport planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
  • Customer focus on delivery performance.
  • Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
  • Experience of using a TMS system.
  • Experience in a retail FMCG environment preferred.

Skills Required
