The Opportunity 

Flock Safety is looking for the first Transportation Account Executive to join the Growth Team to help us scale our emerging Transportation vertical. Flock has seen incredible growth in Law Enforcement in a short period of time, but public safety is only one component of creating truly safe and thriving communities. We are looking for a founding Transportation Account Executive to work with DOTs to enhance roadway operations and safety. Our large existing network of solar powered cameras can provide critical insights for traffic monitoring, transportation management, traffic safety, and transportation planning. As an early member of the Transportation vertical team, you will have the opportunity to build something from the ground up and play a key role in scaling this new market segment.

The Skillset 
  • 5-7 years of full cycle sales experience, with a focus on transportation customers

  • Self-starter mentality with a willingness to learn, take initiative, and produce results in a defined territory.

  • Experience using outbound sales strategies to develop new business within a defined territory.

  • Able to quickly digest and learn technical products, and become the subject matter expert for your clients. 

  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills.

  • Energized by solving customer's problems- e.g. consultative sales approach.

  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, data-driven sales environment.

  • Startup experience is a plus.

90 Days at Flock

We are a results-oriented culture and believe job descriptions are a thing of the past. We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days, lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock Safety.

The First 30 Days

  • Learn the market, understand our customers, meet your peers, understand use cases, develop expertise in your industry in order to see success in your territory. 

  • Set yourself up for success by framing your territory attack plan

  • Outbound activity outside of your normal required training and courses.

The First 60 Days 

  • Build your territory and drive pipeline through outbound prospecting and referrals.

  • Drive thought leadership in the market by attending Transportation conferences

  • In-person shadowing of discovery calls in the field

90 Days & Beyond 

  • Maintain accurate forecasting, weekly and bi weekly checkins with your Director and cross-functional teams.

  • You are driving your territory forward generating new pipeline every week and converting strategic deals

  • Help drive overall product and GTM strategy for Transportation

The Interview Process

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are. 

  2. The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field. 

  3. The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners. 

  4. The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day. 

  5. The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more. 

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $125,000 and OTE of $250,000 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
