Purpose of the Position / Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to ensure the legally compliant, efficient, and timely execution of all customs-related processes within transit and customs procedure operations. The role is responsible for preparing and reviewing customs declarations for customs and transit procedures, ensuring the correct and complete documentation of transit movements, and maintaining compliance with all applicable customs regulations.
In addition, the position involves communication and coordination with customers, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth, transparent, and traceable transit processing across international supply chains.
Areas of Responsibility
Transit & Customs Operations
Preparation and submission of transit documents and customs declarations for customs and transit procedures
Review of goods, transport, and customs documentation required for transit processing
Preparation of work instructions for transit processing, including all required supporting documents
Execution and monitoring of formal customs processes within customs and transit procedures
Processing correction notifications for inaccurate or incomplete transit customs declarations
Documentation and follow-up of all relevant transit customs clearance activities and transactions
Customer Management
Responding to customer inquiries regarding transit and customs procedures
Providing operational guidance to customers on transit customs clearance matters
Ensuring a service-oriented and customer-focused approach when dealing with internal and external customers
Stakeholder Management
Cooperation with customs authorities, including the submission of customs documentation and clarification of transit-related matters
Coordination with operational departments to ensure smooth handling of transit processes
Independent collaboration with authorities and internal departments in the event of transit customs clearance irregularities
Communication Responsibilities
Clear and accurate coordination with customs authorities and internal departments
Documentation of all relevant transit customs clearance activities and transactions
Communication in German and English within international transit operations and supply chains
Competencies
Professional expertise to independently prepare and review customs declarations for customs and transit procedures
Decision-making authority in handling and resolving irregularities within transit customs processes
Responsibility for the correct and complete documentation of transit operations
Application of in-depth knowledge of customs law and related customs and transit procedures

Skills Required
