Global Payroll Transformation and M&A Lead
As ABB Robotics prepares for an exciting new chapter as a standalone global leader in automation, we are undertaking a major transformation of our people processes and systems. To support this journey, we are looking for an experienced Transformation Project Manager to lead payroll and employee lifecycle transformation initiatives across multiple countries.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future payroll landscape of a global organization during a period of significant change and growth. You will work in an international environment, collaborating with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, external partners, and senior stakeholders worldwide.
As Transformation Project Manager, you will lead end-to-end payroll transformation and implementation projects, ensuring successful delivery from discovery and design through deployment and stabilization. You will serve as a key partner to the Global Payroll Transformation Lead and work closely with both local and global stakeholders to establish future-ready payroll and employee lifecycle processes.
The position is a temporary assignment ending October 31, 2027.
Location: Flexible within Europe, with a preference for candidates located in Poland, Spain, or the Nordic countries.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading payroll and employee lifecycle transformation projects across multiple countries.
Driving local country discovery activities to understand current processes and define future-state solutions.
Managing project plans, timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
Coordinating with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure successful implementation and integration.
Facilitating workshops, gathering business requirements, and supporting solution design.
Overseeing testing activities, payroll validations, and go-live readiness.
Supporting change management, training, and transition into operational support.
Ensuring compliance with local legislation, payroll regulations, and company policies.
Providing regular project updates and recommendations to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
We are looking for a proactive project leader who thrives in transformation environments and enjoys working across cultures, functions, and geographies.
You are likely to have:
Fluency in English and Swedish.
Experience with Strada, divestments, or carve-out projects is considered an advantage.
Experience supporting organizations operating across Nordic countries.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
Extensive project management experience within payroll, HR transformation, or shared services environments.
Proven experience leading payroll implementation projects in complex, multinational organizations.
Strong experience with Workday, including payroll-related processes and integrations.
Solid understanding of payroll operations, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
Experience working with global and cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Willingness to travel occasionally for key workshops and project milestones.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
