About the role:

Rabobank’s Financial Economic Crime Financial Intelligence Unit is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Sydney-based team. Reporting to the Transaction Monitoring Operations Lead (Australia), you will be part of a highly collaborative, high-performing team working in a hybrid environment, combining time in the office with working from home.

In this role, you will play a key part in safeguarding the bank by investigating transaction monitoring alerts & assessing potential suspicious activity. You will ensure all investigations are conducted in line with Rabobank’s internal policies, procedures, & regulatory obligations.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, managing, & clearing alerts generated by AML transaction monitoring systems
  • Conducting thorough investigations into potentially suspicious transactions & customer activity
  • Escalating matters of concern to the Regulatory Reporting team where appropriate
  • Addressing feedback & remediation actions from Quality Assurance & First Line Monitoring
  • Supporting the testing implementation of new transaction monitoring rules & system enhancements
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes & operational efficiency

Skills, experience and attributes you will bring to the role:

  • 2 - 4 years experience in transaction monitoring within banking / financial services industry
  • A good understanding of Transaction monitoring & suspicious activity investigation
  • Knowledge of Suspicious Matter Reporting requirements
  • The ability to identify red flags from typologies
  • Familiarity with relevant banking codes of practice & other legislation including Privacy act
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills & a high level of discretion
  • The ability to manage competing priorities & plan own work effectively & efficiently
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience in RiskShield/ Pega or similar workflow tools used highly regarded
