Job Summary
Standard Solar is a leading renewable energy company, focused on distributed-generation solar and battery storage projects as a developer, EPC provider and asset manager. Standard Solar is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to support the project acquisitions diligence. This role supports project valuation, risk management, and investment decisions throughout the solar development lifecycle. This role will provide an opportunity to gain experience in solar development, project acquisition, project finance, and solar regulations in an exciting, high-growth environment. Standard Solar is an experienced, growing company that acquires, develops, constructs, and operates distributed solar assets across the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and lead diligence for acquisition of portfolios and development activities by working with both partners and internal teams in areas including, but not limited to, site acquisition, real estate and title, interconnection, engineering, survey, permitting, environmental, offtake, incentives, and policy

Prioritize, coordinate, review, and track key development deliverables with internal teams and external legal, zoning, environmental, interconnection, and engineering consultants

Maintain strong relationships with developers and other stakeholders

Manage formal communication with development partners and project sellers, specifically the question-and-answer log.

Manage and report project data as it pertains to budget, schedule, and deliverables

Gather market intelligence and expand relationships with local government, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), incentive administrators, consultants, and other stakeholder groups to understand the project development and permitting processes

Review and manage project contracts including purchase agreement, leases, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements to ensure compliance with their terms

Oversee and understand diligence process across all key subject areas such as legal, title, engineering, construction, environmental, permitting, interconnection, schedule and budget.

Research, understand, and manage eligibility and compliance with applicable federal and local incentives and policies.

Transaction leadership for project financing and asset acquisitions

The position will oversee multiple development opportunities at the same time at varying stages

Create presentations summarizing all research involved in each project for review with stakeholders.

Coordinate all payments to landowners and developers

Manage the development fee schedule
Draft and coordinate funding memos; verify development fee payments by milestone

Tracks all key deadlines, contractual obligations, incentive expiration dates and project risks

Liaise with the pricing team to obtain underwriting models and send service requests

Ensure assumptions align with engineering models.

Check and verify insurance requirements

Forecast property tax predictions and obligations.

Manage Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreements.

Monitor Purchase Agreement adjusters
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Candidates with a Four-year Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline are preferred. Planning and entitlements, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science or Business related degree is a plus

5+ years of related professional experience, including 1-3+ years of experience required in energy infrastructure development

Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills

Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability

Excellent interpersonal, Written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills

Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment

Organized, diligent, detail orientated and able to manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis

Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
Located or able to relocate to Rockville, MD; Willing to report to HQ office in person, 5 days per week.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Interfaces with customers, vendors and the public. All employees, including Senior and Executive Management, Sales & Finance.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit and or stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers for typing and delivering materials. Maintain vision for computer work. Must be able to walk up and down stairs.

Skills Required
- 5+ years of related professional experience
- 1-3+ years of experience in energy infrastructure or solar development
