Overview of the position:
This position will play a
pivotal role in designing the training roadmap for TTWF which may include
virtual and in-person modes. The Training Specialist will be responsible for conducting
primary and secondary research to recommend and develop a comprehensive
training plan, create teaching and learning materials, and develop a monitoring
mechanism for training delivery. The ideal candidate should have a strong
background in education design, instructional design, and training
facilitation, along with a passion for promoting education in underserved
communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research global and local best
practices: Conduct
research for efficient and scalable models of adult learning including cascade
learning and e-learning
- Understand the TTWF program
context and challenges: Conduct
Field Visits, school observations, focus groups, and meeting with various teams
to understand the context, challenges, and needs of TTWF
- Develop a Training Strategy: Work with the Training Head to
create a comprehensive training strategy to support the goal of ensuring
quality learning outcomes at scale for all students.
- Design Training Programs: Develop a detailed training plan
encompassing onboarding, capacity building, and continuous professional
development of field staff, master trainers, and classroom facilitators - using
both in-person & and e-learning approaches. Ensure the training programs are
aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Create Teaching and Learning
Materials:
Create engaging, innovative, and culturally sensitive teaching and learning
materials that cater to the specific needs of the target population. These
materials should incorporate best practices in pedagogy and ensure effective
learning outcomes. Make necessary use of e-learning for scale and cost-effectiveness.
- Recruit & Train Master
Teachers: Participate
in the recruitment process to identify appropriate candidates to become master
trainers and deliver training sessions to master teachers, providing them with
the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to effectively train and support
classroom teachers and facilitators.
- Monitor Training Delivery: Implement a robust monitoring and
evaluation system to ensure the quality and effectiveness of training delivery.
Regularly assess training outcomes, provide feedback to trainers, and identify
areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Operations
team and other key stakeholders to ensure training materials and programs are
implemented smoothly. Coordinate with the Content & Curriculum team to
ensure alignment of training materials with learning outcomes.
- Stay Updated on Education Trends: Continuously research and stay
informed about the latest trends, methodologies, and pedagogical best practices
in education and training especially pertaining to e-learning.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships with
local partners, educational institutions, and relevant organizations to
leverage resources, share knowledge, and enhance the impact of Teach the
World's training initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in
education and training, preferably in the context of underserved communities.
- Proficient in using educational
technology and digital tools to enhance training delivery and materials
development.
- Strong knowledge of K-5 education
systems & teaching methodologies
- Experience in designing and
delivering training programs, with a focus on adult learning principles.
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize
tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and the
ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Fluency in English and Urdu is
required and knowledge of Sindhi, while not necessary, is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to field
locations for research and training (20-30%)
