General Information:
The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the effective execution of Structured On-the-Job Training (S-OJT) and driving training-based projects that accelerate employee skill development and ensure operational excellence. Working closely with the Training and Development Leader, this role focuses on delivering high-quality training initiatives, creating essential training documentation, and supporting continuous improvement within the facility. The ideal candidate is skilled in adult learning techniques, has experience in manufacturing environments, and is comfortable facilitating training and coaching employees across various levels.
Your Responsibilities:
- S-OJT Facilitation: Support the acceleration of the S-OJT process by delivering structured, hands-on training and monitoring progress to ensure skill acquisition and proficiency.
- Training Project Management: Lead and participate in training-based projects that align with factory goals, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Training Documentation: Develop and maintain Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs), training guides, and other documentation that enhance the effectiveness of on-the-job training.
- Training Effectiveness Tracking: Collect and analyze data on training performance and efficiency, using metrics to recommend improvements to programs and processes.
- Engagement & Accountability: Encourage employee engagement in training, supporting accountability for learning outcomes and skill development.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with supervisors, team leads, and the Training and Development Leader to identify skill gaps and implement training solutions that address specific operational needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement in training processes and materials.
- Adult Learning Techniques: Apply adult learning principles to develop and deliver engaging, hands-on training sessions that improve employee skill retention.
- Support Training Programs: Assist with additional training initiatives and provide on-the-floor support to ensure that training is successfully integrated into daily operations.

Your Background:
- Training & Facilitation: Effective in facilitating training sessions, with a focus on hands-on, practical instruction.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Strong communicator, comfortable working with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility and is capable of adjusting training approaches to meet the evolving needs of the plant.
- Project Management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute training-related projects within set timelines.
- Proficiency in Data Tracking: Skilled in gathering and analyzing training data, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Minimum Background/Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in delivering structured training in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-On Training: Experience facilitating or other structured, skills-based training programs.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and Lean principles is a plus.
- Preferred Background/Experience:
- Adult Learning & Facilitation: Experience with adult learning principles and facilitation techniques.
- ISO & TWI: Familiarity with ISO standards and Training Within Industry (TWI) concepts.
- Multi-Media Training: Experience creating and utilizing digital training tools or multi-media content for training purposes.
- Data Analysis Skills: Proficiency in tracking training metrics and using data to drive improvements.
