Training Specialist – Santa Ana, Costa Rica

As a member of the Global Operations Training team, you will be involved from start to finish in developing, implementing, and improving training programs for Western Union’s Global Operations functions. This role will allow you to network with leaders, managers, partners, and other stakeholders across Western Union’s corporate locations.
Role Responsibilities
- The main focus of your role will be to implement and maintain training programs for one or more Global Operations teams. Depending on business needs, you may be asked to learn a different process.
- You will be responsible for delivering training to the specialists in the teams you support, ensuring their proper certification, logging training records, and maintaining training programs.
- You will also drive training innovations, develop new training programs, work with stakeholders from other teams, and act as a training champion in training related projects.
- You will collaborate with your colleagues across the sites to achieve this.
- You may also be required to travel to other countries to train and/or audit partner sites.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or be a student and at least 1 year of experience with training facilitation, training development, and adult learning. A diploma, formal certification or proven informal education experience in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, or related fields.
- Interest in adult learning and training development. Experience with facilitating training, mentoring peers, or similar, either at Western Union or elsewhere.
- Excellent English language skills (spoken and written) and intermediate knowledge of the main MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at ease with stakeholders.
- Readiness to drive and contribute to innovations independently and in collaboration with others. Good time management skills to efficiently manage training agendas and responsibilities.
- Flexibility to adjust to different shifts occasionally.
- Availability to travel to other countries to support partner training or audits.
- Management experience, customer service and/or call handling and experience with instructional design will be valued.
- Knowledge of training tools (Articulate Storyline / Rise, LMS tools, Questionmark, Canva, Genially, etc.)
