SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Training Specialist is responsible for the ComplianceWire Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS is the infrastructure that delivers and manages instructional content, identifies and assesses individual and organizational learning and training goals, tracks the process towards meeting those goals, and collects and presents data for overseeing the learning process of the organization as a whole.
This includes new employee orientation, job performance training, Standard Operating Procedure training as well as training for cGMP Quality/Compliance, Environmental/Health/Safety, and Human Resources. The ultimate goal is to achieve overall regulatory compliance, job proficiency, and personnel development and advancement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primary areas of accountability include 1) Establishment/delivery of consistent, accurate, current learning content that is applicable and relevant to the audience. 2) Ensuring all training is completed and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements. 3) Establishment of training metrics to monitor compliance, measure effectiveness and demonstrate quality/strategic alignment 4) Implementing and presenting HR programs and functions.
- Support the effort to identify necessary job competencies and develop training curricula which support identified job competency requirements.
- Support Quality and EHS to continuously improve compliance-based training initiatives.
- Oversee New Employee Orientation including evaluation of the program for effectiveness.
- Oversee on-boarding program to ensure consistency across functions and applicability to the entire work force.
- Create metrics to ensure performance of program continues to exceed employee's expectations.
- Maintain and operate the learning management system and maintain electronic/paper documentation.
- Support cross functional and cross organizational learning and development initiatives.
- Interact with training colleagues, staff, customers, management, consultants, contractors, and vendors in a professional, collaborative, and respectful manner to ensure that their technical and compliance-based training requirements are met.
- May use and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer in-house training programs.
- Maintain communication with site senior management at all times to identify and resolve any technical and compliance-based training issues.
- Support regulatory audits and inspections with respect to requested training, as needed documentation/report. Assist in site and personnel preparedness as requested. Provide timely, complete, and compliant responses when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical/Business/Training or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a training professional; preferably managing training programs in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Other Skills/Competencies:
Technical writing; Microsoft Office; Oral, written and presentation communication proficiency. Individual must be self-motivated, able to achieve results with minimum supervision.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS/ SCOPE:
- This position will interact directly with all levels of plant personnel including Site Team Leadership, production managers, supervisors and non-exempt employees.
- This position will interact with personnel from other locations/positions within Mallinckrodt.
- This position may interact with external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
- This position has no direct reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Generally normal office and meeting room conditions, but must complete some routine assignments in plant and non-air conditioned production environment.
- Training presentations and instructional material will be presented in group sizes ranging from small focus to large town hall type meetings.
- Must be willing and able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary by EH&S, leadership team, corporate, or safety guidelines. This includes hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and any other devices or equipment as specified for the position.
