The specialist will provide training across key Revenue Cycle functions, including Patient Financial Services and Patient Access. Successful performance in this role requires strong Revenue Cycle domain expertise combined with a solid understanding of adult learning principles to effectively drive learner engagement and performance improvement.
Huron’s Revenue Cycle Training function supports the development and deployment of system-wide training programs across client engagements, delivering end-to-end revenue cycle education for hospital and medical group operations. The IBO Training Specialist will coordinate and facilitate training content and sessions, partner with Operations and Quality teams to identify learning needs, and deliver effective training solutions to support achievement of performance, quality, and best practice standards.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
• Support the design and implementation of training curriculum to meet business needs across the Revenue Cycle
• Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions covering revenue cycle systems, applications, workflows, procedures, and organizational standards
• Coordinate training across Revenue Cycle functions across global teams, including Patient Financial Services and Patient Access. Functions include billing, follow-up, customer service, denials, credits, payment posting registration, and pre-service.
• Facilitate new hire onboarding and existing resource refresher trainining. Includes scheduling, tracking completion, and supporting continuous program enhancements
• Independently drive and identify training needs in partnership with Operations, QA, and client stakeholders; analyze QA error trends to target key quality gaps, design focused refresher trainings, and track impact through measurable quality improvement
• Develop and maintain training materials including SOP-based content, job aids, process documentation, training guides, and e-learning modules
• Apply consistent training methodologies and learning approaches to improve knowledge retention, drive performance outcomes, and support operational efficiency across offshore teams
• Utilize appropriate tools, technologies, and delivery methods (classroom, virtual, and digital learning) to support scalable training across global teams
• Provide classroom instruction, virtual facilitation, and on-the-job coaching to reinforce learning, improve associate performance, and address skill gaps
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance training delivery models, learning effectiveness, and engagement strategies
• Support resolution of training-related questions and provide clarification on workflows, processes, and system usage
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Revenue Cycle leadership, Quality teams, and US-based stakeholders
• Stay current on revenue cycle workflows, client requirements, and evolving training methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Familiarity with emerging technologies relevant to RCM Operations and ability to leverage AI-enabled learning tools to accelerate content development, generate assessments and job aids, and deliver personalized, adaptive learning at scale
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business / Healthcare / Learning & Development
• 5–7 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, Insurance Billing Operations, AR follow-up, denials, or related operational training/coaching role.
• Strong understanding of RCM workflows, claim lifecycle, billing edits, payer follow-up, denials, and process documentation.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant business experience in delivering workforce educational training programs, and development of course curriculum
• Ability to facilitate instructor-led and virtual training in an engaging, structured, and effective manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex workflows clearly and concisely.
• Ability to create or update training materials, job aids, assessments, and SOP-based learning content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work flexible hours to support US shift / India overlap requirements.
• Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Epic experience required, Cerner/Meditech experience preferred
