  • Implements training strategies and goals for the site requirements
  • Continually update program training manuals and materials.
  • Ensures all personnel are effectively trained to successfully implement all program service requirements, both as new hires and on-going
  • Meets all deadlines required by supervisor
  • Assists in providing and updating training for the Influx Care Facility Assists in maintaining a staff training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes
  • Maintains program personnel training records and training certifications
  • Must be flexible to work as necessary, to accommodate training needs of various departments and their work shift schedules.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all areas of the shelter population and program operations
  • Maintains Acuity professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the shelter population, and community members
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Education, Business Administration (Human Resources), or related field
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English must (Read, Write and Speak)
  • Must have at least 1 year of training experience
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required
  • Knowledge of lesson and curriculum planning, development, and implementation
  • Have classroom management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include holidays and weekends
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Clean criminal background check
  • Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) or child protective services check
  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations (Emergency Task Order )
  • Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany UC to a different city for several days at a time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous ORR Shelter experience 
  • 2 years training experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs
  • Ability to lift up to 15lbs
  • Visual acuity required to complete paperwork, computer work and direct line of sight supervision of staff.
  • Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities.
  • Ability to stand; particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
