Job Summary:
If you excel at teaching others, breaking down complex systems, and developing skilled operators in high‑reliability environments, this role is built for you. As a Technical Trainer at Centrus Energy, you’ll help bring advanced manufacturing and plant systems to life. Not only through operation and testing, but by developing the next generation of highly skilled operators and technicians. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to understand equipment from the inside out, then translate that knowledge into effective training that ensures safety, reliability, and mission readiness.
What You Will Do:
You’ll develop and deliver training on all of composite operations machinery and processes. This includes being a subject matter expert (SME) on all of operation’s machinery. You will play a vital role in preparing new employees by providing hands-on instruction, coaching, and structured qualification support. All new hires will report directly to you throughout their training period, and you will guide them step-by-step until they are fully qualified on every required machine and have demonstrated the competencies necessary to be recognized as experienced operators. You will ensure each trainee understands system operations, safety requirements, alarm response, and procedural compliance before they transition to independent operation under the operation supervisor. You will be available to perform department roles when needed.
We’d Love to Hear from People With:
- A Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management, or Education. An Associates degree with relevant work experience equivalence will be considered.
- 2 or more years of experience developing and delivering structured training, onboarding, and qualification programs.
- Experience with working hands-on with equipment to gain SME-level understanding for training content.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance (current Q-level strongly preferred).
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- 5 or more years of experience developing and delivering structured training, onboarding, and qualification programs in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Confident operating and training others in high‑pressure situations, maintaining composure while guiding personnel through alarms, abnormal conditions, or fast‑paced operational scenarios.
- Strong communication and instructional skills with the ability to train others effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Equipment Operation background
- Ability to read, comprehend, and then teach to the given documentation.
