In this position, at the very beginning of proposals and projects, you will bring your expertise in ensuring that our requirements are clearly defined to adequately scope the solution, provide the required guidance to the development teams, and reach customer’s training objectives.

This position will also allow you to work in collaboration with a very wide network of technical leaders, domain experts, proposal teams, project management teams, verification and validation teams, system architecture specialists, and more!

The role we are offering you:

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, the TRE leads the following activities:

  • Define and/or review project and customer requirements for D&S and/or civil training devices and systems.
  • With the assistance of various technical experts and management teams, ensure that all requirements are clear, complete, verifiable, and achievable.
  • With the assistance of training solutions experts, validate that the technical requirements for a training device or system deliver value-added training and meet the customers’ training objectives.
  • Coordinate and conduct System Requirements Review activities – both internal and with the customer (iSRR and SRR), including allocation of requirements to the various engineering specialties, allocation of other attributes such as verification method, and documentation of issues resolution or reference to official action items.
  • With the Proposal and Project Experts, ensure that requirements-driven risks are well understood and integrated into project planning, monitoring, and controlling activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous process improvement of the CAE requirements management and development process, in accordance with the guidelines of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
  • Supervise the Requirement Technician (RT) tasks related to data input and management of project requirements documentation in DOORS Database.

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, the TRE participates in the following activities:

  • Support business development and proposal teams during the bid phase to define and understand training requirements.
  • Participate in the definition of training solutions with the Systems Architecture Specialists.
  • Support requirements database users during requirements and validation activities (tools, processes, etc.).
  • Support ongoing assessment and update activities of requirements management tools.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer, or Information Sciences.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in aerospace or simulation and training systems design and development.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis and design aspects, particularly of requirements engineering methods and tools.
  • Excellent French and English, spoken & written.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good analytical, planning, organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of various aeronautics and simulator systems (avionics, auxiliary systems, aerodynamics, motion systems, etc.), an asset.
  • Experience as a Project Expert (PE) or Verification & Validation (V&V) specialist, an asset.
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis by user cases, an asset.
  • Experience with computerized requirements management tool such as Telelogic DOORS or DOORS NG, an asset.
  • Programming experience (C, C++, Java, VBA, DXL, etc.), an asset.
  • Must meet the eligibility requirements for access to Controlled Goods.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance with access to NATO secret documents and adhere to ITAR requirements.
