Basic Function
The Training & Development Specialist directs and oversees all corporate learning and development programs including talent management, performance management, career development, succession planning, diversity, and leadership coaching.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the launch and delivery of succession planning, talent management, performance management, career roadmaps, and other corporate development-related initiatives
- Assesses current capabilities of talents versus capabilities needed for the future and recommends strategies to address these needs through a talent management program
- Partners with HR management and business leaders to align talent strategies with business priorities
- Identifies program success criteria, designs program strategy, and establishes goals and metrics to measure performance
- Assesses the ongoing effectiveness of programs including managing program costs and tracking key metrics
- Refines strategies and develops new solutions to improve cost efficiency and ensure programs are delivering results aligned with the success criteria
- Consults with HR business partners and business leaders to understand and validate learning needs identified by the business lines
- Oversees process of identifying and offering various training courses and assessments to potential Chief Position Holders, ensuring identifying, developing, and optimizing top performers using tools such as MAC, SAC, DAC and 360
- Coordinates and sponsors open-enrollment, targeted-audience, and compliance learning events
- Assists organizations, departments, offsite project management teams, and individuals with addressing training needs
- Ensures all aspects of LMS management and administration are supporting employees and management in their learning and development efforts
- Manages coordination as needed for Saudi Aramco executive-level participants to attend University Executive Program higher education courses
- Performs ad hoc research for special request topics, performing cost-benefits analyses and providing recommendations on training and development issues
- Partners with multiple local and national vendors to provide a wide array of training events
- Oversee Aramco Americas’ Educational Refund Plan
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related degree
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in learning and development with significant exposure to talent and performance management and succession planning
Qualifications
- Direct and successful experience in implementing succession planning, talent and performance management, and other related learning solutions for employees and leadership
- High degree of business acumen and strategic thinking and planning
- Ability to influence business leaders at a senior level
- Executive development expertise
- Highly analytical / able to make data-driven decisions
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and MS Access
- Ability to manage a full project life cycle independently, with an acute attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, communicating clearly and concisely
- Can interact professionally and confidently with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Quick learner who can manage uncertainty, complexity, and evolving responsibilities
