The Training Coordinator, under the oversight of the Director of EMS Academies, supports training initiatives across all company regions. This role is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and coordination of training personnel and programs. The Training Coordinator ensures that developmental programs align with the organization's core competencies and goals, enhancing overall employee skills and performance while maintaining compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating New Employee Orientation, assisting with training plans and curricula, implementing training methods, and maintaining a robust recordkeeping system to track employee training participation and progress. The Training Coordinator plays an important role in supporting professional skill development among training personnel and ensuring consistency in training delivery across the organization.

This is a Salaried Role.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of in-person and online training programs, employing metrics and feedback surveys to evaluate success and improve offerings.
  • Coordinate training initiatives and support training personnel throughout the organization.
  • Develop comprehensive training programs that address organizational needs, including succession planning, high-potential employee development, and leadership development.
  • Communicate with the Director of EMS Academies, senior management, and operational leaders regarding training initiatives and alignment with clinical operations.
  • Support administration of the organization's LMS, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Ensure learning programs support organizational goals and contribute to a positive learning culture.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and execute necessary improvements.
  • Recommend new training methods and technologies, including e-learning courses and game-based platforms, to enhance learning experiences.
  • Develop and approve effective training programs and materials, modifying programs as necessary.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in recruitment through involvement in local EMS classes, conferences, and career days.
  • Always maintain security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Audit and refine content on a regular basis to continually improve materials and adjust to business needs.
  • Keep abreast of training needs, developments, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely training records, attendance documentation, certifications, assessments, and other required documentation in the LMS and designated systems in accordance with company policy and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support periodic audits of training completion and credential records, identify gaps or overdue requirements, and coordinate follow-up with appropriate leaders to support compliance.
  • Maintain appropriate document retention, version control, and confidentiality for training materials, employee records, and compliance documentation.
  • This role provides coordination, functional guidance, and support to training personnel and may lead training initiatives, projects, or workgroups. Formal direct-report responsibility, if any, will be determined by the organizational structure and assigned by the Director of EMS Academies.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Must be based in or able to reliably work onsite in Maricopa County, Arizona, to support.
  • Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and provide training, instruction, and development to adult learners with varying learning preferences.
  • High level of customer service orientation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent administrative skills and be very detail-oriented.
  • Must have strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Must be proficient with creating training curricula with assessments, using authoring tools, and using LMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and training design to create face-to-face, virtual, and online course curriculum.
  • Proficient use of SharePoint, Zoom, and Teams.
  • Experience in training, education, program coordination, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with project management, authoring tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide leadership within a corporate environment.
  • Ability to travel onsite to attend meetings and connect with training personnel as well as operations leaders companywide as needed.
  • Currently licensed Paramedic.
  • Currently credentialed as an AHA Instructor in ACLS, BLS, Heartsaver, and PALS.
  • Preferred: Level 1 and Level 2 EMS Instructor.
  • Preferred: NAEMT Instructor.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Learning and Development, Emergency Medical Services, or related field.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • All Paramedic requirements.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and write for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to view graphic and text data on multiple computer screens for long periods of time.
  • Frequent communication with team members and management.
  • Ability to transport training materials and set up training environments as necessary.
  • Ability to complete all job duties during all hours of the day and night.

This position reports directly to the Director of EMS Academies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to company locations may be required to support training delivery, meetings, program implementation, and collaboration with training and operations leaders. Travel frequency will vary based on organizational needs and may include overnight travel.

Work Environment

Work is performed in office, classroom, virtual, and operational EMS environments. The role may require presence in ambulance stations, training facilities, clinical or field settings, and other company locations. The employee may be exposed to conditions typical of EMS operations while supporting hands-on training activities and must follow all applicable safety, infection-control, privacy, and company procedures.
