MEPPI’s Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Training Coordinator to support the development, administration, and continuous improvement of training programs for production technicians, inventory workers, and inspectors. In this role, you will collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs, maintain training records, coordinate training activities, and help develop a skilled workforce that supports safety, quality, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

Develop & Maintain Training Programs: Organize and formalize existing training materials into a comprehensive training program for production technicians, inventory workers, and inspectors.

Manage Training Records: Maintain and update all division training records within the training management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Assess Training Impacts & Requirements: Continuously review technical, process, and organizational changes to determine impacts on training requirements; initiate updates and ensure training activities are completed on schedule.

Enhance Training Resources: Establish and maintain audio, visual, and hands-on training aids to support classroom and on-the-job learning.

Improve Training Processes: Develop efficient methods and procedures to facilitate timely completion of training programs and associated recordkeeping requirements.

Update Training Documentation: Identify and implement necessary revisions to training materials, qualification tests, and training procedures. Create new training content when required.

Administer Skills Qualification Programs: Develop, maintain, and administer skills-demonstration programs to complement written qualification and testing systems.

Support Trainer Development: Identify training needs for instructors and implement programs that improve trainer effectiveness.

Develop Knowledge Training Resources: Collect, organize, and maintain division indoctrination, orientation, and technical knowledge training materials.

Coordinate Training Activities: Organize and schedule group and individual training sessions in classroom and manufacturing environments for both exempt and non-exempt employees.

Document Training Requirements: Prepare and maintain documentation identifying division-wide training requirements and related procedures.

Partner with Department Leaders: Collaborate with department managers to identify department-specific training and refresher training requirements and coordinate internal and external training resources.

Champion Quality & Safety: Maintain knowledge of MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and communicate their importance throughout all training activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with current International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) requirements when external training programs are developed.
  • Verify completion requirements for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in adult education, training, workforce development, or a related discipline
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Familiarity with basic mechanical and electrical components, drawings, and specifications preferred
  • Understanding of employee development and adult learning principles

Skills & Attributes

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and group presentation abilities
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously

Technology Proficiency

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with training management systems, networking tools, or learning management systems (LMS) preferred
