About the Role:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Training and Development Lead for its Alamo, TN location. In alignment with the North America Hub’s vision and growth strategy, this role is responsible for creating and facilitating various training to include structured on-the-job train-the-trainer, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, lean manufacturing concepts, and various orientation / onboarding topics. This role will drive course development and lead the Training & Development team in the creation of training content. The Training and Development Lead role reports to the Factory Manager at the site location.
Your Responsibilities:
· Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
· Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
· Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community schools, and designate training procedures.
· Facilitate and lead training, including leadership skills, interpersonal skills, lean management, orientation/onboarding, and other non-technical training topics.
· Identify the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
· Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Process Engineering, and Continuous Improvement Leaders, in creating training materials and facilitating associated training.
· Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
· Maintain training records within a Learning Management System (LMS).
· Learn the Lean Management system (ITM System) to support training and coaching others to build capabilities on the lean manufacturing tools and methods.
· Research effective teaching methods and apply them to continuously improve facilitation skills.

Skills:
· Be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
· Excellent interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, and teaching skills.
· Strong communications skills, both written and oral, to all levels of employees and management teams.
· Knowledge of various facilitation methods and approaches to ensure all types of learners are engaged.
· Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
· DDI Facilitator certification is strongly desired (requirement to achieve certification upon starting role, if not certified).
· Experience with Lean Principles is a plus (requirement to learn these upon starting role)
· Experience with administration of LMS is a plus.
· Willingness to continue your own learning and development.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively; self‐motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines in the context of competing priorities and projects; lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully multi-task and meet deadlines and customer demands with a sense of urgency.
Your Background:
· Bachelor’s degree in education, business, human resources, psychology, or related field
· Proven leader and results-oriented professional with experience driving organizational change and business results.
