The purpose of this role is to effectively work within the merchandise team to achieve the company’s strategic objectives and seasonal financial strategies with a focus on location nuances. Drive sales and profitability by providing the customer with a delightful in store experience through assortment and store balancing, ensuring the right product is at the right place and in the right quantity at the right time. Deliver the objectives of the location planning team to enable growth across store formats through stock efficiencies and maximisation in line with profitability metrics.
Responsibilities- Understanding the principles of location planning
- Develop effective strategies to optimize opportunities for store specific occurrences e.g.: coastal store needs, university towns
- Maintain store grading process which accounts for customer centric nuances
- Setup, forecast and maintain forecasts at all levels in the replenishment system
- Continuously managing and guiding the correct distribution of stock brought into the business across locations to achieve maximum return on investment
- Manage strategic allocations/deployment to ensure optimal balance of stock in stores
- Monitor and provide input into volumes behind promoted and marketed item based on analysis and understanding of customer behavior based on regional nuances
- Distribution Centre operations – involvement in setting and maintaining pick profiles, deployment parameters, monitoring actual pick/deployment volumes against projected picks and deployment schedules
Qualifications
- A Degree or Diploma in : BCom Accounting, Strategic Management, Economics, Statistics
- Display a passion for the merchandise processes
- MS Office - Intermediate MS Excel
- Initiative, results driven and have the ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
- Logical, methodical approach
- Analytical, conceptual, problem solving and solution-driven
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the business
Skills Required
- Degree or diploma in BCom Accounting, Strategic Management, Economics, or Statistics
